The story of the Claddagh Rings began some 300 years ago from a small fishing village in Ireland when a folk called Richard Joyce became the slave, he was due to be married shortly and was quite upset as he was far from his lover. Richard Joyce was sold to a Moorish Goldsmith who was very rich; Richard due to his quick learning nature learnt the trade very quickly and easily with him. He learnt so much that soon he designed a ring, which was named as Claddagh Ring and referred as the ‘faith ring’.
